MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Meet Maria!

How has running with a group changed the way you approach your training?

"Running with a group, especially Corsa, has changed everything for me. It's made my training more consistent, more motivating, and more meaningful. Having a group to share the experience with and push each other for races makes every run more enjoyable."

Maria has been with Corsa since September and in that time she's become one of those people you always notice. She shows up consistently, cheers on the people around her at runs and races, and somehow does all of that while also chasing some seriously big goals. We're talking a 50-miler, Big Sur Marathon and more. Here's what she had to say.

What's your running origin story — how did you get into it?

"I started running to spend more time outdoors and a way for me to clear my mind and step away from the 'must-do' side of life. I always finish a run feeling happier and more at peace than when I started."

SUMMER RUNNING TIPS

Running in the heat ☀️

Temps are climbing. Here's how to keep showing up without burning out:

Run early or late. Before 8 AM or after 7 PM — it can be 10-15°F cooler than midday.

Slow down on purpose. Heat stresses your cardiovascular system. Your easy pace should genuinely be slower in summer. That's smart training, not weakness.

Hydrate before you're thirsty. By the time you feel it, you're already behind. Carry more than you think you need.

Electrolytes matter. Water alone isn't enough. Add a pinch of salt, grab an electrolyte tab, or get sodium in after longer runs.

Know the warning signs. Dizziness, nausea, stopping sweating, or confusion — stop, get to shade, cool down. Don't push through it.

A NOTE FROM HANNAH

Every month I think it can't get better, and then it does. May was proof that this community is something real. You all keep showing up for each other and that means everything. More to come in June. See you out there. ❤️‍🔥
